Wednesday, October 29, 2014

The Department of Veterans Affairs is committed to the health and well-being of our Nation’s Veterans. Not surprisingly, the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, in collaboration with the American Liver Foundation, Great Lakes Division, invites Veterans to a free Hepatitis C Screening Program.

  • When: Tuesday, Nov. 4, 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
  • Where: Jesse Brown VA Medical Center Kizer Conference Center, Second Floor, Damen Pavilion, 820 S. Damen Ave., Chicago, IL 60608

A free Hepatitis C Screening for Veterans will be provided. The results will be available within 20 to 60 minutes. Hepatitis C is a growing public health crisis for Veterans, largely because the vast majority of infected individuals are unaware they have the virus. Veterans must be born between 1945 and 1956, and bring Veteran ID or DD Form 214 to qualify. For more information, Veterans and/or interested persons should contact the Office of Public Affairs at (312) 569-6402.
