Patient Education Resource Center
Our Patient Education Center is staffed by an patient education coordinator. The center contains a collection of easy-to-read health and wellness books,videos and other materials.
The Patient Education Center is located on the 3rd floor of the Taylor Building, room 3225.
There are also video resources available to enhance your patient experience. This video can help you prepare for your visit and encourages you to use active communication when seeing your provider.
The My HealtheVet site provides veterans and their families excellent, reliable patient education information as well as the latest VA News. Information about veterans benefits and services is also available.
Upon registering with My HealtheVet, you will be able to —
- refill prescriptions online
- keep personal food and activity journals
- monitor your personal health data, such as blood pressure and pain levels
- maintain your own self-entered personal health record
A My HealtheVet computer is available at the Patient Education Resource Center.
Clinical staff provide ongoing health education during regularly scheduled outpatient clinic visits. Courses focus on —
- smoking cessation
- hearin loss
- prostrate cancer
- mens sexual health
- cancer support group
- OEF/OIF Transition support group

VA Television Network
A closed-circuit television system with patient education programs is available for all inpatient rooms and in some waiting areas. Ask the staff for further information on how to access the system.
